IOM3 in collaboration with AusIMM's Metallurgical Society would like to invite you to the upcoming webinar presentation by Daniel Parvaz.
Electric pulse treatment, or electrodynamic fragmentation, is a novel technique in which solid materials are subjected to a series of electric discharges that travel through the material along internal phase boundaries, weakening, and then eventually disintegrating them.
This webinar gives the audience an introduction to the theory behind electrodynamic fragmentation, and then discusses mineral processing applications of the technology, the pre-weakening and pre-concentration of natural ores, using examples from recent research.

Director, Lightning Machines Mineral Processing Consultancy
Daniel is the Director of Lightning Machines Mineral Processing Consultancy. He has a background in Exploration Geology, studying at the Universities of Leeds and Alberta, and the Camborne School of Mines. Joining Selfrag as a Process Engineer and then Global Sales Manager he led research and business development projects for the company for several years, including optimisation of the Scoria IBA processing plant, before leaving to found Lightning Machines in 2019 where he continues to develop and promote new tools for geologists, materials engineers and miners.

His research interests include: the application of electric pulse treatment as a research tool and for improving energy efficiency in mining; recovery of raw materials from waste; critical raw materials supply and policy; and  ore deposit formation.
