Osino Resources has awarded Metso a contract exceeding €20 million ($24 million) for the supply of critical process equipment to its Twin Hills gold project, located approximately 150 km northwest of Windhoek in central Namibia.
The order encompasses a comprehensive equipment package for the greenfield gold processing plant, focusing on advanced crushing and concentration technology. The plant’s primary crushing circuit will feature Metso’s Superior™ MKIII primary gyratory crusher, apron feeders, and Nordberg® HP900™ cone crushers to ensure efficient ore processing.
For concentrate thickening and tailings dewatering, Metso will supply two HRT High Rate Thickeners equipped with proprietary Reactorwell™ feed technology, along with five Larox® FFP3512 filters. These systems form part of the Metso Plus portfolio, known for their superior performance and high dewatering capacity.
Charles Ntsele, Vice President of Minerals Sales for Africa at Metso, commented:
“As a global leader in process technology, we are proud to be selected as a trusted partner for Osino Resources’ flagship Twin Hills project. Our energy-efficient and water-conscious solutions are designed to help Osino achieve its operational goals. This collaboration also reaffirms Metso’s long-term commitment to supporting the Namibian mining sector.”
In June 2023, Osino Resources released a Definitive Feasibility Study for Twin Hills, outlining a 13-year open-pit mine based on 2.94 million ounces of gold reserves. The project is expected to deliver average annual production of approximately 160,000 ounces at an all-in sustaining cost of around $1,000 per ounce.
