Trident Energy’s CEO to Offer Perspectives on Maximizing Africa’s Mature Assets at the Invest in African Energy (IAE) 2024 Conference.

Trident Energy CEO Jean-Michel Jacoulot is set to address the Invest in African Energy (IAE) 2024 forum in Paris next week, highlighting the company’s expansion efforts in Africa. Trident Energy, a leading independent in the industry, is broadening its portfolio by focusing on operating and revitalizing mid-life oil and gas assets across the continent.

The company’s pivotal role in driving exploration and optimizing oil production is evident, particularly in Equatorial Guinea, where Trident Energy initiated its second drilling program last November. This program involves drilling operations for three deepwater wells in the Ceiba & Okume fields in Block G. Following this, Trident Energy will proceed to drill the Akeng Deep infrastructure-led well in Block S, with an ambitious target of 180 million barrels of prospective oil resources, in collaboration with Kosmos Energy. Jacoulot is anticipated to shed light on the company’s infrastructure-led exploration strategy and its forthcoming field redevelopment plans.

IAE 2024 serves as an exclusive platform facilitating collaboration between European investors and African energy markets. Scheduled for May 14-15, 2024, in Paris, the event offers attendees two days of immersive engagement with industry leaders, project developers, investors, and policymakers. In a recent move, Trident Energy has expanded its footprint in Africa’s prominent offshore markets by entering the Republic of Congo. This expansion follows the acquisition of Chevron’s working interests in the Moho-Bilondo, Nkossa, Nsoko II, and Lianzi fields. Additionally, Trident secured additional working interests in the Nkossa and Nsoko II fields from TotalEnergies, enabling it to assume operatorship of these fields along with the Lianzi field. This strategic acquisition underscores Trident’s increasing focus on Africa’s deep offshore sector and its commitment to acquiring and managing high-quality assets across the continent.

“Sandra Jeque, Event & Project Director at Energy Capital & Power, the organizers of IAE 2024, commends Trident Energy for its endeavors in maximizing production from Africa’s mature assets. She anticipates fruitful discussions at the forum surrounding the exploitation of Africa’s deep offshore potential and the expedited development of frontier prospects.”
