Chinese construction and quarrying machinery giant LiuGong has introduced four new battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) to its European lineup, including two excavators, the 9027FE and 922FE, and two wheeled loaders, the 820TE and 856HE.
The compact 9027FE is a battery-electric version of LiuGong’s popular 9027F short-tail swing excavator, powered by a 20kW LFP battery pack. This machine delivers the power and performance customers expect, with a work duration of 3-4 hours and a fast charging time of 90 minutes. Built on a 48V system, it’s safe and easy to maintain without requiring high-voltage training.
The other three models feature high-voltage battery systems from LiuGong’s strategic partner, CATL, a leading name in battery technology.
The 820TE, LiuGong’s first compact wheeled loader, boasts a spacious cabin, a travel speed of 40kph, and a 70kWh battery that recharges in just 80 minutes. With a maximum lift height of 2.5 meters and an optional fourth-line auxiliary spool, it’s ideal for industrial and agricultural use.
LiuGong’s best-selling 856HE mid-class wheeled loader is powered by a 423kWh battery, providing up to 12 hours of operation on a single charge. It features two independent motors—one for driving and one for the hydraulic system—delivering strong drive traction at speeds as low as 2km/h. The 856HE can be fully charged in 90 minutes, offering robust power and performance.
The 922FE medium-class excavator is powered by a 430kW battery, allowing it to work full 8-10-hour shifts. Its motor delivers 140kW of power, outperforming diesel models by around 24kW and comparable to a 26-tonne-class machine, making it a high-performance option for demanding work environments.
LiuGong emphasizes dealer support as key to its expansion in Europe. Representatives from the company’s dealer network are undergoing rigorous training to become ‘LiuGong BEV Certified,’ ensuring that they have the necessary spare parts, tooling, and expertise before taking any machine into stock.
