Sensmore Raises $7.3M Fund For Fuel Autonomous Industrial Vehicles

Sensmore is a full-system provider that upgrades heavy mobile machines on site, like those in limestone quarries, by adding their own hardware and AI software.

Sensmore automates whole fleets, from haul trucks and dumpers to wheel loaders. Their technology turns any machine into a smart robot that can work on its own and solve tough problems in real time, without needing training first.

This helps bring automation to places where it wasn’t possible before.

Using cameras, 4D radar, and AI, sensmore creates a strong automation system that works well even in tough conditions and can adjust on its own to new situations without needing help.

At the core of this system, CTO and co-founder Bjarne Johannsen distinguishes between two layers of intelligence: “Thinking Fast is our end-to-end network that lets machines react instantly and instinctively, like a person walking without thinking. Thinking Slow adds intelligent reasoning, the ability to understand what the task is, how to solve it, and why it matters.”

That deeper layer is powered by a VLAM, Johannsen continues: “Like Figure AI does for humanoids, we use a multimodal system that combines vision, language, and action context to solve complex real-world tasks, even those the machine has never seen before”, he adds.

Further collaboration with customers is critical, as CEO and co-founder Maximilian Rolf asserts: “Our roadmap delivers immediate value through intelligent and assistive features from day one, while laying the data foundation for tomorrow’s full automation.

We don’t just build for our customers — we partner with them to shape the automated future together.”

The plan includes three main parts: sensmore Machine Assist, which gives smart collision warnings and helps with precise positioning; sensmore Site OS, a real-time tool for site supervisors; and sensmore Eye, which uses cameras for quality checks. Each part works together to collect and use a lot of real-time data, helping improve operations now and preparing for future automation.

Sensmore has already installed its system at some of Europe’s biggest open-pit sites. Customers like CEMEX and Lhoist are seeing real improvements in productivity and safety. Sensmore’s first fully automated Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) machine is now being tested and can complete a full load-and-carry cycle on its own, without any human help.

Sensmore’s technology can be used in many industries—like construction, mining, farming, and defense—where machines work in tough and complex conditions.

The funding was led by Point Nine Capital and also included Acequia Capital, Tiny Supercomputer, Prototype Capital, and Entrepreneur First.

Ricardo Sequerra Amram, Partner at Point Nine, commented: “sensmore is pioneering a new era of intelligent automation for heavy machines. What sets them apart is their ability to translate cutting-edge AI research into robust, modular solutions that work in the field today.

Their deep customer collaboration and exceptional technical team are laying the foundation for a new wave of reindustrialization across mining, construction, and beyond.”

The company has also received funding support from the State of Brandenburg and the European Union.
